Yes, it is a full-time program. It combines online learning with practical, hands-on clinical practice. Due to the demanding nature of the program, students should not plan on working while in the program.
The Olivet Online RN-MSN is a full-time program is approximately 30-36 months long. 54-76 -credit hours, (54-76 credit hours (plus 45 practicum hours during BSN coursework and 720 practicum hours during FNP coursework) that consists of online instruction with testing, simulations, labs, and clinical rotations completed onsite at our Oak Brook, IL regional center and at local hospitals and healthcare facilities. RN-MSN classes meet online, 2 program starts per year. Class length is 6 weeks for BSN courses and 8 weeks for MSN courses. The curriculum is based on the mission, philosophy, and conceptual framework of Olivet Nazarene University’s Department of Nursing.
Graduation requirements include successful completion of the RN-MSN curriculum, a GPA of 2.75 or above and 128 semester hours of college credit, which will include required general education and prerequisite courses. Graduates of this program will be awarded a Master of Science in Nursing, and will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
